Laszlo Kallay, Vice President (Studium Academicum, Oradea/Romania)

My name is László Kállay, I’m a pastor of the Hungarian speaking Reformed Church in Romania, in a suburb (Osorhei) of Oradea. I serve in this congregation since 1990. After studying in Switzerland (1991-1992) I started to teach systematical theology at the Reformed College in Oradea (1993-1995), than I lead the Department of Ecumenical and Foreign Affairs at the Reformed Church district of „Királyhágómellék” (Oradea) for four years (1995-1998). In this time I got a lot of experiences in the field of the ecumenism. In 2000 I established the Foundation Studium Academicum and – with some other colleagues and friends of mine – I started the work of lay and adult education in the Western part of Romania. Our centre is a non residential centre, although we mostly use for our purposes the Church Center of my own congregation in Osorhei. The board of Studium Academicum works voluntarily and - obviously – so do I.

I think, I’m a conscientious, dedicated individual and enjoy being challenged. Meanwhile my work experience and society involvements have developed my ability to work in team, along with my leadership, communicational, organizational and creative skills.

I speak five languages (Hungarian, Romanian, German, English and French) and I have the sense of humor, as well.

My nomination, for being the vice president of our Association has been a surprise and in the same time a big honour for me. If elected, I’ll put my abilities and my skills at the disposal of Oikosnet Europe (EAALCE).

Hereby I’d like to thank the Nominations Committee the confidence, given to me!

Sirpa Koriala, President (Orthodox Academy, Valamo/Finland)

I´m working as a director in Valamo Lay Academy, which is an Ortodox center in Eastern Finland. I was born in an ecumenical family and in my work and life I want to promote all activities which bring people together to learn and to face each other. For me, as a church musician, music and art are bridges to God, they are also "light sources" in my life. I´m an active member of my church and I´d like to be a part of and work for a dynamic, global, ecumenical network who is willing to shere, learn, grow and develop together without losing its religious identity and faith in God.
